PUNO

Captain Carlos Saavedra (front row, left)
Formerly a Peruvian naval officer, bi-lingual in Spanish & English with an intimate knowledge of Lake Titicaca and the history of the altiplano cultures. Joined the Yavari in 1992.

Maximo Flores (back row, 2nd right)
Bosun and Chief Mechanic; joined the Yavari from the Peruvian Navy in 1986. 

Teodocius Cahuana (back row, right)
Assistant Mechanic; ex Peruvian Navy; joined the Yavari in1998.

Antonia Quispe (back row, 2nd left)
Guide and Artificer. First female crew member in Peru; joined the Yavari in 1999.


LIMA

Giselle Guldentops (front row, right)
Project Administrator. Has Master’s Ticket (up to 100 tonnes), studied Marine Engineering. Experienced in PR& Admin., bi-lingual in Spanish & English. Joined in 1998.

Meriel Larken (front row, centre)
Director and Founder of The YAVARI Project and holder of el Orden al Merito
for services to numerous social projects through The Anglo-Peruvian Society.
Formerly Administrator of The Cusichaca Archaeological Project, Chairman of The Anglo-Peruvian Society and the founding Chairman of The Anglo-Latin American Foundation (ALAF).With a family background of naval and maritime exploration she also has a wide knowledge of South America, tourism and PR.
